International Management (BA)

General Information

The purpose of studying International Management lies in a multifaceted and internationally applicable qualification in business management. The course of study is based on comprehensive theoretical introduction to the main features of business administration and economics, statistics as well as civil and public law. Furthermore, practically oriented knowledge from international business administration is given. Theoretical qualifications are complemented with practically oriented abilities as well as more in-depth knowledge in foreign languages and intercultural competence.
About 50 percent of all modules – among them several core modules which deal with international aspects – are taught in English. Thereby, the main focus is on practical relevance, integration of case studies and foreign lecturers of the partner universities. With the objective to educate an “internationally active generalist”, the compulsory modules are highly varied.
Compulsory modules include:

  • International Controlling
  • International Accounting and Taxation
  • International Marketing
  • International Strategic Management
  • International Economic Law
  • International Economics

A study abroad placement in the third semester and a training abroad period in the fourth semester are both highly recommended. By virtue of the ECTS recognition scheme, a lengthening of the period of study as a result of the placements abroad can be avoided. Furthermore, international key skills are acquired through an intercultural communication seminar and business language modules.
At the end of their study, students should be fluent in English, proven in their Bachelor’s thesis and assignments in the English compulsory modules. Furthermore, students will also have acquired a sound knowledge in one other foreign language.
